Who We Are

At Williamston United Methodist Church, we believe God loves all human beings without exception. Because we believe this, we welcome people of all races, cultures, and ethnicities; all ages, abilities, and perspectives; all gender and sexual identities. We welcome you whether you pray or not, are exploring your beliefs or have a long-held faith; whether you are healthy or struggling; whether you are a family of one or of many, of traditional or unconventional make-up. We believe in the social justice principles of the United Methodist Church, and we acknowledge past failures and injustices in our church and society. We acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the ancestral land of the Anishinaabe First Nations people. We seek to address in our community and world the inequities that keep people marginalized. We are imperfect people, but with God’s love, in the fellowship of Jesus Christ, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we try our best to live out the gospel to transform our world so that one day all will be welcome everywhere.

What We believe

God loves all human beings without exception.

We welcome people of all gender identities and sexual orientations, as well as those who are questioning their identity. We welcome people of all ages, capacities, and abilities. We are imperfect people who struggle to fully include all identities and abilities, but with God’s love, in the fellowship of Jesus Christ, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we try our best to live out the gospel to transform our world so that one day all will be welcome everywhere.

God loves all human beings without exception.

We welcome you whether you pray or not, whether you are exploring your beliefs or have a long-held faith, whether you identify as a Christian or something else. We welcome you whether you are healthy or struggling, whether you are a family of one or of many, and whether your family is traditional or unconventional in its make-up. We are called to welcome all because in some way none of us fit the norm, and we are all imperfect. With God’s love, in the fellowship of Jesus Christ, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we try our best to live out the gospel to transform our world so that one day all will be welcome everywhere.
